Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) – Williamstown, NJ

Pay: $19 plus differentials per hour

Location: Williamstown, NJ

Employment Type: Part-Time, Variable Hour

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays 11am-7pm


About This Case
Home To Stay is seeking a compassionate and patient Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide one-on-one care for a client in Williamstown, NJ. The client communicates using a spelling board, lip movements, and eye movements, so we're looking for a caregiver who is attentive, patient, and comfortable taking the time to understand the client's communication style.
What This Client Needs
  • Full assistance with personal care activities

  • Bed bath assistance

  • Dressing assistance

  • Oral hygiene and tooth brushing

  • Mouth exercises

  • Nail care

  • Assistance with communication using a spelling board, eye movements, and lip reading

  • Set up the television to the client's preferred program before the end of each shift

  • Provide companionship, patience, and emotional support

  • Follow the client's established daily routine and care plan

Communication Notes

The client can hear and understand conversations.


Responsibilities
  • Assist with all assigned activities of daily living while preserving the client's dignity

  • Provide bed baths and assist with dressing

  • Perform oral care, including brushing teeth and mouth exercises

  • Provide nail care as directed in the care plan

  • Assist with communication using the client's preferred methods

  • Prepare the client for comfort at the end of each shift, including turning on their preferred television program

  • Document all care provided accurately and report any changes in condition

  • Follow all Home To Stay policies and the client's individualized care plan

Requirements
  • Active New Jersey CHHA certification

  • Reliable, compassionate, patient, and attentive

  • Comfortable caring for a client with complex communication needs

  • Ability to read lip movements and use a spelling board (training and patience required)

  • Comfortable providing full personal care, including bathing, dressing, oral care, and nail care

  • Reliable transportation to and from the client's residence

Attributes
  • No cats in the home

  • No dogs in the home

  • Hoyer lift transfers are required; however, only facility staff operate the Hoyer lift per facility protocol. The CHHA is not responsible for Hoyer lift transfers.

  • Non-smoking environment

  • No transportation
