TITLE: JAVA FULL STACK ENGINEER
LOCATION: PLANO, TX (ONSITE) NO H1B
DURATION: 12 MONTHS WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION

Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)
- Use Spring Boot to design, build, test, and deploy scalable microservices for logistics operations like order processing, warehouse management, and shipment tracking.
- Create and maintain responsive user interfaces (UIs) for logistics applications using Angular. The focus is on providing a seamless user experience (UX) for critical operational tasks.
- Write complex SQL queries for DB2 and perform database design and optimization. Ensure data integrity for all logistics data.
- Develop and implement event-driven data pipelines using Kafka for real-time data processing and communication between microservices.
- Work with GCP services, potentially including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for orchestration, Compute Engine for virtual machines, and Cloud Storage for data.
- Develop middleware and APIs to bridge the gap between newly developed Java applications and legacy COBOL-based systems. This allows for the gradual modernization of logistics functionality.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Participate in regular code reviews with other developers to maintain quality standards.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings to track progress and plan future tasks within an Agile/Scrum framework.
- Collaborate with business analysts, UI/UX designers, and QA testers to define and deliver new features for logistics applications.
- Guide and mentor junior developers, ensuring that best practices are followed and knowledge is shared across the team.
Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack Java development, including the design, development, and deployment of enterprise applications.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working with Spring Boot and developing microservices.
- Proven experience building responsive front-end user interfaces using Angular (v10+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong expertise in message-driven architecture and real-time data processing using Apache Kafka.
- Direct experience integrating with and interfacing to legacy COBOL systems.
- Proficiency in database design, SQL optimization, and direct experience with DB2.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and using its related services, such as GKE and Pub/Sub.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) within an Agile or Scrum environment.
