Job description


International Equity Research Analyst
An American Asset Manager is seeking a Research Analyst to join the International team located in Greater Philadelphia. The Research Analyst will be closely working with the International Portfolio Managers to source, analyze and monitor public equity investments across three international strategies. The Research Analyst will also be a critical team member in enhancing the quantitative models and analytical tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify and research new investment ideas.
• Analyze industries and businesses through fundamental research; conduct detailed financial analysis, competitive advantage analysis and valuation assessment; build investment cases, draft investment memos, and make recommendations to the team.
• Monitor and analyze existing investment holdings across multiple geographies and sectors.
• Conduct leading edge research in statistical and fundamental quantitative methods, models and tools.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate is passionate about investing, highly analytical, quantitatively inclined, intellectually curious, a fast learner and an independent thinker.
Self-directed, highly collaborative, and able to handle a variety of responsibilities. Japanese language capability is strongly preferred,(All Read / Write / Speak)
• Candidates may include: - College seniors with strong academic performance in economics/finance/mathematics/engineering who are pursuing careers in finance.
- Recent graduates with an applicable undergraduate degree in economics/finance/mathematics/engineering, or Masters in Finance/MBA.
• Japanese language capability is strongly preferred, but not an absolute prerequisite.
• Exposure to public equity investing, ideally in non-US markets, through work/internship experience is a plus.
• Strong statistical and modeling skills preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
