Southwest Value Partners (SWVP), a privately held real estate investment company, is seeking a talented Director of Information Technology (IT) to join its team. SWVP invests in institutional quality real estate in growth markets throughout the United States. SWVP has a disciplined, high-energy approach to asset acquisition, operating execution, value creation, and asset disposition.
The Director of IT is responsible for the strategy, management, and day-to-day operation of the company's information technology infrastructure, systems, and applications across the company's corporate offices. Partnering with the Chief Compliance Officer on cybersecurity and information security matters and supports the IT Risk and Security Committee, while owning the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the technology services that support the firm's investment, asset management, and administrative operations.
The environment at SWVP is fast-paced and dynamic, and the Director of IT will need to work well both independently and in a group setting. Ensuring quality work is delivered in a timely and professional manner and communicating effectively with both internal personnel and external third parties will be key.
The IT function consists of the Director of IT and IT Manager, supported by an outsourced managed service provider (MSP). The Director of IT will report to General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the company's information technology strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligning technology investments with business objectives and the firm's growth across acquisitions, development, and asset management, including the evaluation, deployment, and ongoing oversight of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and platforms, establishing appropriate usage guidelines, governance, and safeguards in coordination with the AI Committee.
- Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, endpoints, telecommunications, and on-site systems and oversee technology setup, connectivity, and support for the corporate offices and, as applicable, remote locations, including new office build-outs, relocations, and moves.
- Oversee the business applications and systems used across the firm, including real estate investment and asset management platforms (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or comparable), accounting and financial systems, document management, and productivity tools.
- Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, identity and access management, email, file storage, and collaboration platforms, including timely provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and helpdesk services to employees, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and a high level of internal service.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, managed service providers, and consultants, including contract negotiation, service-level agreements, and performance oversight.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including hardware, software licensing, subscriptions, and capital technology projects, and provide cost-effective recommendations to leadership.
- Implement and maintain data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans for IT systems, in coordination with the Chief Compliance Officer's cybersecurity program
- Support the Chief Compliance Officer and the IT Risk and Security Committee by implementing technical safeguards, controls, and remediation consistent with the company's information security and cybersecurity policies.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies, automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and reliability across the organization.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and documentation, including hardware and software standards, asset inventory, and acceptable-use standards in coordination with Compliance.
- Lead or support the technology aspects of real estate transactions and integrations, including due diligence, system integration, and data migration for acquired properties or portfolios.
- Oversee IT asset lifecycle management, including procurement, tracking, maintenance, and timely replacement of hardware and software, and manage technology onboarding and offboarding for employees, including equipment provisioning, configuration, and secure decommissioning of devices and accounts.
- Provide direction to IT staff and/or contractors by setting performance goals, offering regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Encourage professional growth through learning and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive information technology experience, including infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user support.
- Relevant IT certifications preferred (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, CompTIA, PMP, or comparable).
- Experience with the deployment and oversight of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and platforms preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in administering networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, and technology projects from planning through implementation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365), networking, virtualization, and enterprise business applications.
- Familiarity with real estate investment and asset management systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) strongly preferred.
- Experience leading IT operations, ideally within real estate, private equity, financial services, or a related professional services environment.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, controls, and frameworks, with the ability to partner effectively with the Chief Compliance Officer and support the firm's security program.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across hardware, software, and connectivity.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into information easily understood by all levels of the organization.
- Results oriented, analytical thinker and planner.
- Strong analytical, organizational skills, and critical thinking ability.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.

Compensation: Salary plus bonus
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, plus additional after hours and on-call availability as needed
