Position Summary

The Director of Maintenance & Inventory manages, implements, and executes effective strategies to ensure the necessary product required to operate with excellence is maintained at all times while keeping inventoryThis position builds out and executes proactive and reactive maintenance plans across all parts of the business to ensure we are able to be faithful stewards of the facilities that have been entrusted to us. Through strategic initiatives, this position works closely with the Operator to ensure our vision and core values remain as the foundation on which Pennell Restaurants, LLC grows the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Maintenance

  • Create and execute comprehensive maintenance calendar outlining weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly time frames.
  • Ensure all maintenance efforts are executed to meet CFA and Pennell Restaurants, LLC standards.
  • Ensure any safety concerns or repairs are communicated through appropriate channels.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee daily spot counts and end-of-month store-wide inventory counts.
  • Confirm reciept of inventory daily and reconcile invoices.
  • Manage inventory transfers, overages, and shortages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace that supports team productivity.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations to ensure smooth coordination between FOH and BOH teams.
  • Analyze kitchen performance and implement improvements in efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all inventory orders are place by designated timeframe.
  • Ensure any invoiced inventory is accounted for upon delivery
  • Any discrepancies with deliveries should be communicated (Signal) and it is the responsibility of this role to ensure replacements/reimbursement is received.
  • Oversee inventory levels and take appropriate action to ensure any shortages are rectified

Shift Operations

  • Demonstrates flexibility by performing other duties as assigned to support operations and team success.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance with dependable transportation.
  • Execute opening, mid, and closing procedures with precision and consistency.
  • Upholds Chick-fil-A Hays’ standards of excellence, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Can be accounted for operationally as needed.
  • Proactively maintain the security of the building during and after business hours
  • Provide timely communication of any issues that arise that could affect operations
  • Maintain ALL rooms and equipment found throughout the business.
  • Look for and seek out opportunities for organization and cleaning.
  • Maintain parking lot (trash/debris) and set up/breakdown any equipment utlized in parking lot/drive-thru
  • Carry 2-way radio at all times to be able to respond to and communicate with operational leadership

Team Development

  • Train approved team members proper inventory management procedures
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to develop team members’ skills and confidence.
  • Identify and invest in potential leaders, preparing them for future advancement.
  • Conduct training on safety, food handling, and Chick-fil-A’s operational best practices.
  • Celebrate progress and recognize excellence to build morale and engagement.
  • Cultivate a positive, disciplined, and unified kitchen culture where every team member feels valued and equipped.

Food Quality & Safety

  • Uphold all local/state and ServSafe guidelines, maintaining accurate logs and documentation.
  • Lead regular kitchen inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Manage product rotation, labeling, and storage procedures with excellence.
  • Proactively address potential issues before they impact food quality or safety.

Organizational Alignment

  • Connect regularly with the Operator.
  • Connect regularly with operational leadership to guarantee excellence in communication for all initiatives related to the operations of the business.
  • Ensure maintenance and inventory needs/issuese/status changes are communicated in a clear and consistant manner via the proper channels.

Financial Stewardship

  • Perform maintenance tasks with focus on being financially responsible and operating with the health of the business in mind when determining the best course of action.
  • Perform EOM tasks to inventory accuracy
  • Communicate any disparities to Operator immediately
  • Ensure EOM is finalized completely and accurately by time designated by CFA Corp.
  • Review EOM reports and coordinate with Operator to rectify any disparities.
  • Follow proper processes for damaged equipment and communication is carried out among vendors as it pertains to cleanliness/maintenance.
  • Maintain proper build-tos at all times
  • Ensure LEAN process are executed: inventory, proteins, oil rotation/boilouts, etc.
  • Ensure all sensors, seals, and thermostats are operational and properly maintained.

  • Ensure the restaurant and its equipment is running at peak performance and allows all team members to operate in a safe and healthy work environment
  • Make certain we are executing with excellence, honor, dignity, and respect.
  • Follow Chick-fil-A guidelines and procedures in all areas of the business, including all aspects of food safety.
