Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to work on-site at least 2 days per week at our office in Mississauga. The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business needs.

About the Role:

McKesson Canada is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial leader to establish and lead our Innovation Incubation capability. Reporting into a cross-functional innovation ecosystem, this role will identify, validate, and develop new growth opportunities that support McKesson Canada's long-term business strategy.

Working closely with Corporate Strategy, Business Development, Business Unit leaders, and external partners, you will evaluate emerging healthcare trends, unmet customer needs, and disruptive technologies to determine where McKesson can create new value. Through disciplined experimentation, customer discovery, prototyping, and business model development, you will transform ideas into investment-ready opportunities and scalable growth initiatives.

This role is ideal for a leader with experience in innovation strategy, venture building, commercialization, healthcare innovation, or new business development who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys turning ideas into measurable business outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and lead McKesson Canada's innovation incubation capability focused on identifying and validating new growth opportunities.

  • Develop and manage an innovation portfolio and opportunity pipeline from concept through investment recommendation.

  • Partner with Corporate Strategy and Business Development to evaluate strategic growth opportunities and emerging market trends.

  • Conduct market, customer, and partner discovery activities to validate business opportunities and customer demand.

  • Design, test, and refine new business models, value propositions, revenue streams, and commercialization strategies.

  • Lead rapid experimentation, pilot programs, and minimum viable product (MVP) development to assess market viability.

  • Develop business cases and financial models evaluating market size, revenue potential, profitability, investment requirements, and return on investment.

  • Establish and manage innovation stage-gate processes, including success metrics, governance, and investment recommendations.

  • Build strategic relationships across the healthcare ecosystem, including health systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers, startups, technology providers, academic institutions, and industry associations.

  • Collaborate with Business Units, Technology, Finance, and Transformation teams to transition validated opportunities into scalable business initiatives.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations supporting build, buy, partner, or scale decisions.

  • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and customer-centric thinking.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Innovation, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in innovation, strategy, venture development, new business development, commercialization, management consulting, product strategy, or related fields.

  • Experience leading innovation programs, venture incubation initiatives, commercialization efforts, or new business creation.

  • Experience developing business cases, financial models, and executive-level recommendations.

  • Experience engaging and influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience leading teams through ambiguity and organizational change.

  • Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare technology, or digital health sectors.

  • Experience building or scaling new products, ventures, businesses, or commercial offerings.

  • Experience with partnership development, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, or venture ecosystems.

  • Strong understanding of customer discovery, market validation, and go-to-market strategy development.
