Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, patient-centered plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, and holistic nursing care to a mixed-acuity patient population including post-surgical cases, diverse medical conditions, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice patients.
  • Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR methodology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Apply strong time management skills to maintain productivity and support overall team performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model, contributing to a positive and collaborative unit culture.
  • Perform duties consistent with unit-specific and general competency-based objectives as directed.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; license verification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of straight Medical Surgical RN experience (not float, SDU, or telemetry).
  • Level I or Level II Trauma experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Skills checklist completed within one year of application is required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience with shared governance or unit-based council participation is a plus.
