Job Summary
The Environmental Services Director is responsible for the efficient management of the Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance departments. He / she must maintain excellent interdepartmental skills, relate well with people and adhere to established schedules.
Qualifications
The incumbent will possess:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a leadership role and with supervising other employees
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures in the healthcare / long-term care environment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to the facility.
  • The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government personnel and the general public.
  • Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as a willingness to handle difficult situations.
  • The ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for maintaining the facility in a safe and sanitary manner..
  • Willingness to seek out new methods and principals and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
