Job description

The Engineering Director acts as an internal subject matter expert (SME) for hospital MEP systems. This person is responsible for review of MEP designs for hospital capital projects to optimize performance and to reduce cost and waste. KPIs include but are not limited to operating efficiency, carbon emissions, water use, resilience, maintainability, replaceability, longevity, first cost

What you will do in this role:

  • Optimizing MEP designs for new project
  • sAct as internal subject matter expert on MEP systems as neede
  • dReview and critique of MEP assessment report
  • sReview and critique of MEP design documents for greenfield hospitals, expansions & renovations, capital replacement/renewal/enhancement project
  • sReview of change order
  • sTrack and report out on lessons learned from hospital design review
  • sProvide SME support for MEP design guidelines continuous update
  • sSite investigation as needed to assist operations or consult on construction project
  • sDue diligence site visits for acquisition
  • sTravel max 25

What qualifications you will nee

  • d:Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology Requir
  • edMinimum of 5 years of HVAC design AND 2+ years of MEP design OR energy plant operatio
  • nsProfessional Engineer, EIT, or equivalent preferr
  • edIn-depth knowledge of commercial or institutional level HVAC systems required including chillers and cooling tower, boilers, pumping syste
  • msWorking knowledge of electrical (normal and emergency), plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and sanitary systems preferred or ability to lea
  • rnSelf-motivated problem-solvers on
  • lyEffective communication skills including public-speaking, slide presentations, writing of emails and reports, et
  • c.Good working knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point requir
