Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, was founded in 1926. Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas.


Hope Valley is hiring for an Equipment Operator. The Equipment Operator is a key member of the golf course maintenance team and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and other turf equipment. This role directly impacts the playability and presentation of the golf course.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of turf maintenance equipment, including mowers, aerators, and utility vehicles
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment
  • Safely mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs according to directions
  • Support fertilizer and pesticide application programs under supervision
  • Assist with general course maintenance tasks such as bunker raking, edging, and debris cleanup
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the Golf Course Superintendent or Mechanic
  • Assist with seasonal and special course projects as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous golf course maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience operating golf course or turf maintenance equipment preferred 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to course quality
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and operating machinery
