Golf Course Spray Technician
Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent
Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Status: Seasonal, Full-Time
Expected Start Date: September 1, 2026
Pay Range: $23-25 per hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The spray technician is responsible for the safe and accurate applications of all fertilizers, pesticides, or any other products needed to be applied to advance and protect the golf course.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides to all areas (mainly maintained turfgrass, including the golf course and ski side of the mountain)
• Use all types of sprayers: boom, boomless, backpack, and small vehicle mounted tanks.
• Apply each product to specifications at the direction of Superintendent and as directed for the product.
• Strict use of PPE as needed for the job.
• Perform normal golf course tasks such as mowing, course setup, excavating, etc.
Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of proper and correct PPE.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must have a positive team-building attitude.
• Open lines of communication.
• Critical thinking.
• Adaptability.
• Actively looking for ways to help people.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• Must have at least one (1) year of golf course maintenance experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under Company's insurance.
• Experience in events, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Ability to work effectively and ensure co-workers are working safely.
• Must have willingness to learn new techniques and new ways of doing things.
• Must be driven and possess a strong work ethic.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• They will occasionally be required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel, and climb.
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.
• The noise level is typically moderate to loud.
• Work extended daily hours as needed during golf and holiday season.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays and some summer evenings is required.
