Job Description Summary:
Cambridge Associates is seeking a highly skilled and client-focused Client Director to join our Global Client Solutions team, supporting all client types-including endowments, foundations, pensions, and private clients-served through our San Francisco office. This role is responsible for cultivating and
retaining client relationships, driving new business, and ensuring an exceptional client experience in partnership with dedicated investment teams.
Job Description:
Relationship Management & Retention
โ€ข Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of clients in the San Francisco region,
ensuring high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
โ€ข Partner with investment teams to deliver tailored solutions and address client needs, leveraging
firm resources and expertise.
โ€ข Develop and execute client engagement strategies, including regular meetings, portfolio
reviews, and feedback sessions.
New Business Development
โ€ข Collaborate with the Business Development team to convert qualified leads into new client
relationships across all segments.
โ€ข Lead the proposal and onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition and
strong initial engagement.
โ€ข Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through cross-selling and
deepening service offerings.
Strategic Partnership & Client Advocacy
โ€ข Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for clients, providing guidance on firm capabilities, market
trends, and best practices.
โ€ข Communicate investment concepts and firm solutions in an accessible manner, drawing on
internal expertise as needed.
โ€ข Work closely with internal teams (investment, operations, marketing) to deliver integrated
solutions and exceptional service.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
โ€ข Work with Associates to support client service and business development activities; reporting
lines for Associates may vary.
โ€ข Foster a collaborative environment, sharing best practices and supporting the professional
development of team members.
Performance & Reporting
โ€ข Maintain accurate records of client interactions, relationship status, and business development
activities in CRM systems.
โ€ข Provide regular updates to senior leadership on client retention, new business won, and market
feedback.
โ€ข Achieve performance targets based on client retention and aggregate net revenue growth.
Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
โ€ข Minimum 12+ years of experience in client relationship management, business development,
investment consulting, or related fields.
โ€ข Proven track record of building and retaining client relationships, as well as winning new
business.
โ€ข Familiarity with investment concepts and the ability to coordinate with investment
professionals.
โ€ข Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
โ€ข Willingness to travel as needed within the region.
Base salary range for this role:
Pay Range Minimum:
181500
Pay Range Maximum:
246800
In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. Actual placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity.
