Job description

About The Role
  • Lead and evolve enterprise procurement; partner with R&D, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and G&A to drive cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and contract value creation.
What You'll Do
  • Define and execute the enterprise strategic sourcing strategy aligned with corporate objectives and pipeline priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as strategic advisor to senior leadership on procurement/sourcing matters.
  • Develop and continuously improve procurement policies, frameworks, and operating models.
  • Lead category management for Clinical Operations, Commercial, IT, and Professional Services.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing (RFI/RFP/RFQ) and competitive bids for indirect/services categories.
  • Negotiate complex, high-value supplier contracts; manage risk and ensure compliance alignment.
  • Implement and oversee contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes/tools.
  • Build supplier performance management (KPIs, scorecards, business reviews).
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard strategic suppliers meeting quality, compliance, and ESG standards.
  • Proactively manage supplier risk (financial, operational, geopolitical).
  • Lead/mentor the procurement team; attract talent and build capability.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Develop spend analytics/benchmarking and procurement dashboards.
  • Partner with Finance on budget planning, accruals, and procurement financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and applicable regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Life Sciences, or related.
  • 10+ years progressive procurement/strategic sourcing; 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Biopharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences experience.
  • Category strategy creation and sourcing in indirect/services categories.
  • Deep category management expertise across clinical, commercial, and/or G&A spend.
  • Strong contract law, procurement best practices, and supplier risk management.
  • Procurement technology platform experience (e.g., Oracle, Agiloft, ScanMarket).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication.
Nice to have
  • MBA or equivalent; CPSM/CPM (or equivalent).
  • GxP procurement requirements and CDMO/CRO contracting.
  • Experience building/transforming procurement function.
Travel / Work
  • Approx. 10% domestic travel.
  • Hybrid role based in Bridgewater, NJ.
Compensation

$177,000.00–$242,000.00 annual.
