JOB TITLE: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist
LOCATION: San Francisco, California
***Relocation Assistance Available
BASE SALARY: $165,000 to $206,315

This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all Medical Center locations
Flexibility in scheduling with ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
Willingness to participate in the CALL rotation as directed by department. 
Schedule is 3/12 variable schedule including weekends and holidays.

  • The Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (Cath/EP) Technologist is a California-licensed technologist who performs safe, high-quality imaging and procedural support for inpatient and outpatient populations across the lifespan.
  • The technologist must maintain current ARRT and CRT licensure and demonstrate the ability to work safely and effectively in an acute care environment.
  • Working under the direction of the Adult Cardiac Catheterization & Electrophysiology Unit Director, the technologist functions as an integral member of the procedural team, supporting pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, structural heart, and vascular procedures.
  • Responsibilities include operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment; producing and submitting high-quality images to PACS; documenting procedures in the GE Mac-Lab/CardioLab systems; and troubleshooting imaging equipment as needed.
  • The technologist may function in both scrub and circulating roles, assist physicians during procedures, support patient education within scope of practice, and coordinate closely with anesthesia and other patient care departments within the Cath/EP environment. Additional responsibilities include radiation safety oversight in collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer, participation in performance improvement initiatives, adherence to infection control and radiation safety policies, equipment troubleshooting in partnership with Biomedical Engineering, and inventory management in coordination with Materials Management.
  • This role requires flexibility in scheduling, participation in call rotation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to self-direct in a fast-paced procedural setting.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum two or more (2) years’ Radiologic Technician experience in Cardiac Cath/EP labs or OR/Hybrid OR Interventional Radiology lab
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Flexibility in scheduling with ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to participate in the call rotation as directed by departmental needs
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist License (CRT)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • California State Fluoroscopy Permit
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS
