      Description

      Memphis Sports and Events Center (MSEC) is an award-winning, state-of-the-art venue designed to promote sports tourism while simultaneously engaging local stakeholders. The 227,000 square foot facility features 16 basketball courts (adaptable to a multitude of other sports and events) as well as courtside cafes, a ninja course, an esports gaming studio, VIP suites and various other amenities. It is operated by Virginia-based Eastern Sports Management (ESM) and sits within Liberty Park, a mixed-use development of entertainment venues, dining, retail and hotels.

      The Memphis Sports and Events Center is accepting applications for a Programs Coordinator. The Programs Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development, organization, delivery, and administration of sports leagues, youth programs, tournaments, camps, clinics, and activities targeted toward youth and adults. The Programs Coordinator works closely with departmental leadership and assists in the day-to-day execution of facility programming and operations while reporting to the General Manager and/or assigned Director.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities
      • Assist in the development, organization, delivery, and administration of sports leagues, tournaments, youth programs, camps, clinics, activities, and special events.
      • Assist in planning, scheduling, staffing, and directing games, facilities, officials, instructors, scorekeepers, and program staff.
      • Assist with program setup, breakdown, registration, customer communication, and operational execution.
      • Help recruit, onboard, train, supervise, and support part-time staff, coaches, instructors, and program personnel.
      • Ensure a high level of customer service for all participants, guests, coaches, and families.
      • Assist with maintaining program standards, policies, and operational expectations.
      • Assist in monitoring registration numbers, program participation, and operational reporting.
      • Collaborate with Marketing and Operations teams to support program promotion and visibility.
      • Assist with maintaining equipment inventory and program supplies.Handle customer-related matters professionally while supporting a positive participant experience.
      • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure the smooth operation of leagues, tournaments, camps, and facility programming.
      • Maintain knowledge of and adherence to ESM/MSEC policies, rules, and regulations.
      • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisory personnel and/or the General Manager.
      Qualifications
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Sport Management, Physical Education, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred

      • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in sports programming, recreation, event operations, youth programming, or related field preferred

      • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong organizational skills

      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

      • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and guests

      • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

      • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

      • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

      • Basic working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office preferred
