We are currently hiring a Full-Time Director of Operations to join our team based out of our Milton, ON location. They will oversee all daily operations of the facility, from warehouse and transportation to ensuring policies and procedures are followed, while participating in Senior Leadership Team. They will also develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.


Position: Full-Time, Permanent.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, business hours.
Salary: Between $100,000-120,000 per year plus additional bonuses and allowances.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Serves as a resource and servant leader. Creates an environment that stimulates achievement, creates opportunities, and sets an expectation for teamwork and success.

  • Interviews, hires, trains, and retains management staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff and initiates follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.

  • Mentors motivate and develop staff and act as a role model and resource. Works with Warehouse and Transportation Leadership to identify and develop future warehouse/transportation leaders.

  • Adheres to cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.

Operations and Efficiency

  • Responsible for the accountability and overall performance of divisional initiatives, including complete and accurate customer order shipment, accurate transport and delivery of products; quality and inventory standards and salvage; system and other audits; and the general maintenance and management of the division.

  • Maintains knowledge of the division route growth plan and its effect on operations systems and personnel requirements. Collaborates with the local transportation supervisors on route placement plans to maximize warehouse efficiencies and transit/delivery departure requirements.

  • Collaborates with Transportation Manager to create, review, and implement divisional policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities with other functions, including production, sales, administration, purchasing, and safety.

  • Works with department leadership and staff to develop creative plans for operations systems and procedures to improve customer service, safety, efficiency, accuracy, product care, sanitation, and employee morale.

  • Ensures training requirements and tracking are complete for all warehouse and transportation employees.

  • Maintains accountability for the acquisition, trial, evaluation, and repair of equipment, supplies, and resources utilized in the warehouse.

  • Maintains relevant and updated knowledge and technical aptitude on current operations systems, utilizing this knowledge to make educated, data-driven decisions in every day and emergent operational crises.

  • Planned and executed production to fulfill all regulatory and SQF requirements.

  • Perform any other duties as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years of leadership experience in a similar role.

  • Must have good written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, challenging environment

  • Ability to work effectively with others as well as build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships.

  • Must have good time management and organizational skills.
