Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Testing Engineer for our cloud and on-premise security management platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in computer science and five to seven years of experience testing networking and security products, particularly in cloud environments. This role requires proficiency in testing methodologies and tools, along with a comprehensive understanding of networking protocols and security mechanisms.

Role Overview:

This position owns end-to-end quality validation for Security Director Cloud and Security Director On-Prem. The engineer will design and execute functional, system, integration, security, performance, and regression testing across cloud-native and virtualized deployments while expanding Python- and Playwright-based automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test end-to-end systems built with microservices in Kubernetes environments hosted in the AWS public cloud and deployed on VMware and KVM hypervisors.
  • Perform real-time browser compatibility, user workflow, and traffic testing across supported web browsers from an end-user perspective.
  • Validate administrative workflows and functionality, document test scenarios, and verify that system logs are generated correctly and contain accurate information.
  • Validate role-based access controls to ensure that security logs and administrative pages are accessible only to authorized users.
Required Skills and Experience
  • A broad understanding of networking, virtualization, and firewall concepts is essential for success in this role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, IPv4, and IPv6.
  • Hands-on experience with the AWS cloud platform is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and microservices environments is required.
  • Proficiency in Python programming is required.
  • Proficiency in UI test automation using tools such as Playwright is required.
  • Work with automated testing frameworks and tools to create and maintain automated test suites for efficient and repeatable testing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and quality assurance professionals, to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans for cloud firewall solutions.
  • Develop and execute test strategies, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, security, and scalability of cloud-based networking and security products.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes.
  • Continuously assess and improve testing methodologies, processes, and strategies to ensure product quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of testing environments that replicate real-world cloud networking scenarios.
  • Generate detailed test reports and documentation that clearly outline test results, identified issues, and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in testing networking and security products, preferably in cloud-based environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing test cases and test plans.
  • Hands-on experience with various testing tools and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with UI test automation tools and frameworks, particularly Playwright.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Solid programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) for test automation.
  • Experience with AWS is required;
  • Relevant certifications in networking or security domains are advantageous.
