Job description


As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer - Display Services here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will work in a fast-paced and exciting development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.
You will report to our Sr Engineering Manager and will work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. External hires will begin with 90 days onsite before transitioning to a hybrid (3/2) work schedule.
This position does provide relocation assistance.
Join our dynamic Display Services team at Honeywell Aerospace, where we design, develop, and integrate highly complex systems for our Anthem Next Generation Avionics project. We are on the lookout for an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about creating innovative software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for development, systems integration, and verification of core Display applications to be hosted on the Next Generation Avionics Platform
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Testing and Integration on test benches in labs.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience with C++ or Object-oriented programming skills.
  • 5+ years of experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
  • 5+ years of experience with software architecture and design development skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

WE VALUE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline Software Engineering degree or related experience
  • Advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields.
  • SW architecture design and embedded C++ coding
  • Experience in developing software for embedded systems.
  • Multi-core / multi-thread development experience.
  • Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
  • Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++.
  • Strong analytical and software development skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS NG, and Confluence
