Job description

Position Purpose

The Senior Financial Systems & Reporting Administrator prepares financial reports and analyses, develops and maintains financial system reports, and supports database administration activities that enable accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting. This position partners with our Financial System Vendor, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Information Technology, and leadership stakeholders to translate business needs into effective reporting solutions; maintain financial data integrity; support annual capital, long-range financial planning, and operate budget processes. The Senior Financial Analyst provides training, documentation, and support to users of financial systems and reporting tools.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent develops, modifies, tests, and maintains financial system reports, queries, dashboards, and data extracts. This includes gathering requirements, documenting report logic, writing or validating SQL or similar database queries, coordinating database maintenance activities, troubleshooting report issues, supporting system upgrades or conversions, and partnering with technical teams to maintain appropriate access, controls, and data security.

This position independently organizes, analyzes, validates, and presents financial and operational data to support the organization’s finance, accounting, operational, and strategic planning functions. The role serves as a senior resource for financial reporting, report writing, financial system support, and database administration coordination.

Position will optimize and configure our Financial System for the various modules, budgeting, long range financial planning, capital planning, capital tracking, productivity, and benchmarking. This position will be the front-line support for the finance teams and end-users on the set up and structure; how to navigate the system, interpret reports and work in the various plan files for each module.

The incumbent independently performs complex research, financial project analysis, spreadsheet development, and presentation preparation. The position supports assigned leaders with strategic initiatives, organizational goals, financial metrics, reports, analyses, and interpretation of findings.

This position completes and manages accurate, timely, and objective financial results, reports, and analyses for assigned projects. Responsibilities include recurring and ad hoc financial analysis, financial statement reporting, pro formas, dashboard development, and report writing using financial systems and database reporting tools. The researchers with large data sets, validates source data, research discrepancies, and supports data governance practices to ensure financial information is complete, consistent, and reliable for decision-making.

This position provides monthly reports to Corporate-Finance under strict month-end deadlines for assigned financial areas. The incumbent assists with monthly performance review packets and presentation materials for Directors and Divisional CFOs, provides input into the financial planning process related to operating changes, and completes pro formas in partnership with operational leaders for new or expanded services in alignment with the standard Renown pro forma process.

The major challenges of this position include working with management at all levels to provide timely and accurate financial reports, analyses, budgets, and projections. The incumbent must be able to shift priorities as information and organizational needs change and must maintain effective communication regarding financial requests and deliverables.

The incumbent must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. The incumbent must be a self-starter who can work independently, solve complex business problems, and exercise sound judgment with minimal guidance or supervision.

This position has access to proprietary and confidential information and is expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, communication, performance, and confidentiality.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of five years of experience in financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, decision support, or a similar analytical role required, including experience developing financial reports, working with financial systems, and using databases or query tools. Healthcare financial planning, cost accounting, ERP, budgeting system, SQL, report writing, or database administration experience preferred.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Advanced Excel skills are required. Experience with financial systems, ERP or budgeting applications, report writing tools, database applications, SQL or similar query tools, and data visualization or business intelligence tools is preferred.
