Physical Therapy Technician
TherapySouth was founded in July 2006 by Steve Foster, PT, LAT. His vision was that TherapySouth would be a therapist-owned practice, specializing in "hands-on care, close to a patient's home or work". The Physical Therapy Technician position is an ideal entry level position for candidates interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or exercise science.
Essential functions:
- Assist in the administration of physical therapy programs which are directly supervised by the treating physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
- Clean and organize work area, change and clean linens, and disinfect equipment after treatment.
- Clarify the patient's next scheduled appointment time.
- Prepare hot/cold packs and replace them for therapist as needed.
- Administer modalities as directed by physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
- Prepare Game Ready with ice at the start of each shift and as needed. Keep ice trays filled and ice container full.
- Inform therapist if anything unusual is reported by the patient so they can determine if an adjustment needs to be made to the treatment plan.
- Straighten treatment rooms.
- Stock all carts, replace covering on anodyne pads as needed, refill ultrasound gel bottles, refill hydro collator water level and organize electrodes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills according to company needs and professional requirements.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal professional regulations.
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.
