Job description

With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners. We are seeking an experienced Software Tester to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from storyboarding and software requirement gathering to independent verification and validation (IV&V) of software releases. As a key member of the team, you will focus on testing next-generation technologies, including innovative express lanes pricing software, industry leading advanced traffic management systems (ATMS), and real-time traffic management dashboards. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about software quality, public infrastructure, and the direct impact of technology on society. Your contributions will play a critical role in advancing state-of-the-art systems that enhance public safety, optimize operational efficiency, and improve decision-making processes for transportation authorities across the state.

What You'll Do:
  • Develops and maintains basic BI reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Writes SQL queries to extract and transform data from relational databases.
  • Assists in building and maintaining data models and data warehouse structures.
  • Collaborates with analysts and business users to understand reporting requirements.
  • Documents data sources, report logic, and technical processes.
  • Learns and applies best practices in BI development and data visualization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or In lieu of education, 4 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:
  • Familiarity with SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI or Tableau.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
What We Prefer:
  • Master's degree in computer science.
  • Experience in Transportation, Tolling, or Traffic Management Software.
  • Experience with FDOT SunGuide, TxDOT LoneStar, New England Compass, TDOT Smartway, Georgia DOT Navigator, SWRI ActiveITS, or any other ATMS.
