Job description

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, individual contributor that completes preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on Battery Electric Vehicles and related components at the customer site.
Follows established procedures and guidelines to develop field service knowledge and skills while completing on the job training and classroom instruction on Cummins-based curriculum.

We are looking for a talented  EV Field Service Technician to join our Distribution business in (Portland, OR). 

This role will make an impact in the following ways:

Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and related systems at customer sites
Conduct basic inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior technicians
Maintain detailed records of service activities and repairs completed
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies, including high-voltage safety procedures
Participate in ongoing training and certifications on new and existing Cummins products and EV technologies
Maintain own tools
Follow established procedures and guidelines while developing field service knowledge and technical skills

The Level 1 EV Technician performs basic maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electric vehicles and related systems under the guidance of senior technicians. This role is responsible for following established safety procedures, completing service documentation, and developing technical proficiency in EV systems, high-voltage safety, and diagnostic processes.
 

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance and basic repairs/diagnostics on electric vehicles and related systems
Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
Demonstrates an understanding of safe work practices and established repair processes
Has basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Has some knowledge of diagnostic software and electronic service tools
Ability to follow procedures and accurately complete service documentation
Willingness to learn EV systems, high-voltage safety, and diagnostic processes through on-the-job and classroom training
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning
