What does a Branch Manager do?

As the Branch Manager at QC Supply's Downsville, Louisiana location, you will oversee daily processes, sales and operations while serving as a key representative of the company. Requirements for this Branch Manager job

To succeed as QC Supply's Branch Manager, you should bring 5-10 years of proven experience in sales or business management, along with the ability to oversee branch operations, drive sales and support efficient distribution processes. Agriculture experience is preferred, but a strong background in customer service, sales and distribution practices is essential. You will also set the standard for safety, housekeeping and policy adherence while guiding your team through training and day-to-day expectations.

Attention to detail will be important as you monitor inbound and outbound order flow, manage inventory through daily cycle counts and respond to the needs of a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, along with an understanding of market dynamics, will help support success in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position
  • Leadership and business management: 5-10 years of proven experience in sales or business management; ability to oversee all aspects of the location, manage staffing levels effectively and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Sales and customer support: Partner with Sales and Marketing to manage promotional sales lifts; support front-end sales through order entry and maintenance for key customer accounts; coordinate deliveries with customer locations and monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Distribution and operations: Understand distribution routines and support efficient product flow; monitor inbound and outbound orders; dispatch and issue sales order picklists for processing and shipment.
  • Safety, quality and continuous improvement: Maintain housekeeping and safety standards; supervise safety training, policy adherence, housekeeping and sanitation; ensure the team follows work instructions and contributes improvement ideas.
  • Metrics and inventory control: Collect and report key site metrics; audit and track facility quality and accuracy; manage inventory control, including daily cycle counts.

Technical and industry knowledge: Agriculture experience is preferred but not required; experience using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
