The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer who can manage multiple projects, collaborate across departments, and deliver high-quality designs on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Product Development

  • Design and develop new products using 3D CAD software.
  • Ensure designs meet application requirements, specifications, and appropriate tolerances.
  • Review engineering and ERP bills of materials (BOMs) for accuracy before release.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure action items are completed.
  • Perform engineering calculations and apply GD&T principles to product designs.
  • Use FEA to validate and optimize designs for performance and reliability.

Project Management

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates, challenges, and potential delays.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality and performance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Provide technical support for customer interactions, trade shows, and technical presentations.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor other engineering and design team members.
  • Apply knowledge of cost-effective manufacturing processes, machining, and engineering principles to improve product designs.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for product improvements, cost reductions, and process improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and applicable regulatory requirements related to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support compliance with material regulations, including REACH, RoHS, SCIP, Conflict Minerals, and California Proposition 65.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in product design and new product development within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, or the ability to learn these systems quickly.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

Key Competencies

  • Strong technical and engineering skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, patient, and team-oriented approach.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging engineering projects from concept through production. You will play an important role in developing reliable, cost-effective products while collaborating with a variety of teams across the organization.

About Avero

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

In 1997, while working as the CFO of an NYC restaurant group, Avero founder Damian Mogavero, was frustrated with his management team’s inability to answer basic questions about the restaurants’ performance. He wanted a better way to extract the data already being collected by the POS and to enable operators to use it to make better, faster, and more profitable decisions. In 2002, Avero was born. Today, Avero has offices in Dallas, Las Vegas, Boulder, and NYC and is used by over 43,000 operators in 75 countries. And we always stay true to our mission: innovating technology to empower hospitality operators with the answers they need to transform their businesses and their lives.
