Job description

Job Description:
The IT Data Analyst provides data, reporting, and analytics support across TTI's Carolina businesses - Consumer Power Tools (CPT), Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), and Floor Care (FC) - partnering with the Data Analytics & Information Engineering (DAIE) team and business stakeholders to build, maintain, and improve Power BI reports, Snowflake transformation layers, and other data ingestion and decision-support tools. This role provides general analytical support balanced across all three business units, with workload and priorities shifting over time based on business needs. The position also implements AI-enabled solutions - such as Snowflake Cortex Analyst and Cortex Agents, Copilot agents, and related conversational or agentic tools - for business units to consume and utilize directly. The position combines core SQL and Power BI skills with a strong interest in automation and AI-assisted development, and reports to the BI Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES / SKILLS
  • Provides day-to-day data analytics, reporting, and troubleshooting support across the CPT, OPE, and FC business units, resolving incidents and enhancement requests routed through ServiceNow.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for data and reporting needs across the CPT, OPE, and FC business units, supporting efforts to document, stabilize, and modernize existing reports, data models, and data processes.
  • Writes, tests, and troubleshoots SQL queries to access, validate, and prepare data for reporting, analytics, and automation across multiple source systems.
  • Builds, maintains, and enhances Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models that support business decision-making for CPT, OPE, and FC stakeholders.
  • Partners with business users to gather requirements, clarify report specifications, and translate business questions into working analytics solutions.
  • Supports migration and consolidation of legacy reporting environments, including moving business unit workspaces and reports into current-state Power BI apps, and helps identify and retire duplicate or unused reports.
  • Assists with Snowflake data preparation, transformation, and semantic model refresh processes; contributes to dbt-based transformation work as skills develop.
  • Uses AI coding agents and related tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and documentation of reports, queries, and automation.
  • Implements AI-enabled solutions for business unit stakeholders to consume and utilize directly, such as Snowflake Cortex Analyst and Cortex Agents, Copilot agents, and similar conversational or agentic tools that extend self-service access to data and reporting.
  • Monitors scheduled data refreshes and automated processes, troubleshooting failures and escalating as needed to minimize business disruption.
  • Documents data sources, report logic, calculations, and processes to build institutional knowledge and reduce single points of failure.
  • Tracks and prioritizes incoming tickets and tasks in ServiceNow, balancing workload across CPT, OPE, and FC analytics needs.
  • Collaborates with other DAIE team members, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, secure, and aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related discipline; OR an MBA with a concentration in data analytics; OR a bachelor's degree in any discipline combined with equivalent professional experience, is required.
  • Proficiency with SQL is required, including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize queries for reporting, analytics, and data preparation.
  • Proficiency with Power BI is required, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX in a business setting.
  • Experience with Python is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with, or strong interest in, using AI coding agents (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to support development, testing, and documentation work is a strong preference.
  • Experience with, or strong interest in, implementing AI-enabled tools for business consumption (e.g., Snowflake Cortex Analyst/Agents, Copilot agents, or similar conversational/agentic solutions) is a strong preference.
  • Experience with Snowflake and dbt is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Prefect, Kubernetes, or Docker is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across the CPT, OPE, and FC business units while maintaining consistent, broad-based analytics support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a cross-functional team.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel (post-COVID) up to 10%. It is anticipated this position will travel 0-10%
