Job description

JDAPP Youth Advocate 


This role directly supports justice-involved youth enrolled in the Detention Alternative Pilot Program (DAPP) in accordance with the MOU with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.


Position Details

  • Status: Non-Exempt
  • Reports To: DAPP Program Supervisor and Site Manager
  • Schedule: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
  • Compensation: $50,000
  • Employment Type: Full-Time, At-will


Position Summary

The DAPP Youth Advocate provides direct support to program participants through mentoring, transportation, attendance monitoring, and engagement during structured programming.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mentoring and youth support aligned with program goals
  • Assist in ensuring participants meet weekly service hour requirements:
    • 3 hours CBT
    • 3 hours mentoring
    • 14 hours structured programming
  • Provide transportation to and from program activities as assigned
  • Support attendance tracking and daily reporting
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with participants


Transportation Requirement

This role requires:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Safe, reliable vehicle
  • Proof of auto insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000 / $300,000
  • Ability to transport youth participants

  • Experience working with youth or community-based programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to youth development and accountability
