FreedomPay is entering a transformative new chapter with the launch of a comprehensive global rebrand. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Brand Design & Creative Operations to lead the execution, governance, and evolution of our visual identity across every touchpoint of the business.
This leadership role will serve as the steward of the FreedomPay brand, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across every touchpoint where the brand is experienced. From marketing campaigns and customer-facing experiences to internal communications, events, product assets, digital properties, partnerships, and corporate materials, this role will be responsible for protecting and evolving the integrity of the FreedomPay brand.
As the organization's brand authority, the Director will oversee brand governance, asset management, creative standards, and approval processes while partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, UX, Sales, Partners, & HR to ensure consistent execution across the business.
This is a highly visible role requiring a blend of creative leadership, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and brand strategy expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Leadership & Governance
  • Own and champion the FreedomPay visual identity system across all channels and regions.

  • Serve as the primary authority on brand standards, ensuring consistent application across marketing, product, sales, events, partnerships, recruiting, and corporate communications.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines, governance frameworks, and approval processes.

  • Review and approve creative assets to ensure brand compliance and design excellence.

  • Educate and enable teams throughout the organization on proper brand usage and best practices.

Rebrand Execution
  • Lead the rollout and implementation of the company's new global brand identity.

  • Partner with executive leadership, marketing, product, UX, sales, and external agencies to operationalize the new brand across all customer and employee touchpoints.

  • Conduct and maintain an ongoing audit of branded assets, identifying opportunities for updates and optimization.

  • Develop strategic plans for the migration of legacy materials to the new brand system.

Brand Governance & Asset Management
  • Own the brand governance program and approval process.

  • Serve as the final reviewer and approver for branded assets produced internally and externally.

  • Establish standards, workflows, and quality control measures to ensure brand compliance across all teams.

  • Maintain and evolve the company's visual identity system, brand guidelines, templates, creative libraries, and digital asset management platform.

  • Conduct regular audits of touchpoints, campaigns, materials, and experiences to ensure ongoing brand consistency.

  • Partner with department leaders, agencies, and vendors to drive adoption and adherence to brand standards across the organization.

Creative Operations
  • Own intake, prioritization, and management of all internal and external brand-related requests.

  • Establish scalable workflows, approval processes, service-level agreements, and project management systems.

  • Manage relationships with design agencies, freelancers, production vendors, and creative partners.

  • Oversee creative project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Design & Asset Development
  • Lead creation and oversight of corporate templates, presentations, event assets, advertising, social media graphics, sales materials, digital experiences, videos, infographics, and executive communications.

  • Provide art direction and creative leadership on major marketing initiatives, events, campaigns, and product launches.

  • Ensure all assets reflect the company's evolving brand positioning and visual standards.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, UX, Sales, Partnerships, HR, Events, and Executive Leadership to embed the brand consistently across every major business function.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders seeking creative solutions while balancing business objectives and brand integrity.

  • Influence decision-making and alignment across teams to ensure a cohesive brand experience.

Team Building & Leadership
  • Build and lead the future brand and design function as organizational needs evolve.

  • Mentor internal team members and external creative partners.

  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in brand design, creative leadership, visual communications, or a related field.

  • 3+ years leading brand strategy, governance, or creative operations functions.

  • Proven experience owning and managing a comprehensive corporate brand across multiple channels and stakeholder groups.

  • Experience managing, evolving, and scaling global brands across regions and markets.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale brand transformations or rebranding initiatives.

  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and creative vendors.

Technical Skills
  • Expert knowledge of visual identity systems and brand governance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, and digital collaboration tools.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, web design principles, content systems, and customer experience.

  • Experience working with digital asset management platforms and creative workflow systems.

  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled creative tools and workflows, with the ability to identify practical opportunities to improve creative efficiency, streamline production, and scale asset development while maintaining brand standards.
