$85,000.00 to $95,000 Annual
General Description/ Primary Purpose:
The position supports the data transfer, analysis, presentation, and governance for the overall Full-Scale Pavement testing effort. This role coordinates with research staff to develop rational database structures and programs based on data base software, general programming languages, and data presentation software. This position is located on-site in the Pavement Research Unit of the FDOT State Materials Office in Gainesville, FL.
Job Functions:
The position requires a highly motivated and organized employee who is responsible for the
following tasks:
  • Development and maintenance of database systems in addition to analytical tools and technologies.
  • Creating interactive data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Development of documentation and data governance practices/procedures (such as software documentation, data workflows, etc.).
  • Integration of artificial intelligence techniques into data analysis techniques.
  • Support for automated reporting and data analysis processes.
  • Implementation and ongoing development of new technologies and infrastructure to improve pavement data collection, processing, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvements in this area moving forward.

Required Qualifications
This position requires effective communication skills (both verbal and in writing). The Computer Programmer position will need to develop effective working relationships throughout the Full-Scale Pavement Testing Program and across the State Materials Office.
Minimum qualifications require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field with applicable work experience.
A graduate degree and research experience are preferable.
