Job description

Your Role

The Director, Business Intelligence is a strategic leader responsible for driving global alignment, standardizing commercial performance tracking, and decommissioning redundant regional reporting in favor of scalable central tools. Reporting directly to the Senior Director, BI, this role serves as a vital liaison between central functions and regional teams across EMEA, the US, and APAC, managing relationships with the Global Priority Artist team and supporting long-term artist development projects and executive artist reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Define, own, and implement the long‑term Business Intelligence roadmap, aligning all data initiatives with the company’s commercial goals and revenue targets.
  • Own artist goals and achievements in partnership with global priorities stakeholders.
  • Partner with marketing functions on bespoke projects and case studies, such as Christmas analysis.
  • Own commercial reporting to the Global Priorities team and ensure a clear framework for tracking artist development.
  • Co‑own and facilitate the Recorded Music Analyst Network to promote cross‑territory best practices and reduce duplicated analytical efforts.
  • Drive global alignment by harmonizing commercial results monitoring and phasing out overlapping regional reports to promote adaptable central solutions.
  • Lead the promotion of AI technologies and self‑service capabilities as the division shifts from descriptive dashboards to predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Data Solutions & Innovation (DS&I) team to provide enterprise‑level operational intelligence.
  • Direct complex, high‑stakes deep‑dive analyses to uncover hidden commercial opportunities, forecast large‑scale economic patterns, and identify operational inefficiencies.
  • Present data‑backed strategies, financial forecasts, and market trends directly to C‑level executives, influencing enterprise‑wide decision‑making.
  • Shift the department’s focus from descriptive analytics to prescriptive and predictive analytics, proactively guiding the business through market shifts.
Qualifications
  • 6–10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Strategy, with a consistent track record of driving commercial growth through data.
  • Deep technical foundation and strong architectural understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and advanced manipulation languages (SQL, Python).
  • Enterprise‑level visualization expertise, with extensive experience supervising Tableau (or similar platforms) deployments at scale.
  • Strong background in the music, entertainment, digital media, or tech industry, with a deep understanding of streaming economics, digital marketing, and audience monetization.
  • Exceptional executive presence and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional VPs, C‑suite executives, and regional managing directors.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Additional Desired Experience
  • Prior leadership experience and a history of mentoring junior team members.
Benefits

Salary Range: $130,000 to $140,000 annually. This position requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the office. Warner Music Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
