Job description

Director, Business InsightsKey Result AreasPrimary Market Research (PMR)
  • Develop a primary market research plan using appropriate and innovative methodologies for pre- and post-launch activities.
  • Develop and manage the annual primary market research budget and prioritize spend across studies.
  • Lead end-to-end market research processes (RFP development, vendor selection, and efficient project execution).
  • Translate findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations; anticipate follow-up questions from teams and senior leadership.
  • Ensure research complies with applicable laws, privacy standards, and internal policies.
  • Support advisory board activities by consolidating resulting insights.
Insights Synthesis & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Account Management, Market Access, Marketing).
  • Translate data (PMR and analytics/CI outputs) into actionable commercial insights to support decisions, resource allocation, and operational improvements.
  • Independently design approaches to answer complex business questions using internal and external data.
  • Collaborate with the BI&A team to develop KPIs and contribute to performance dashboards.
Launch Readiness
  • Design and lead pre- and post-launch primary research (e.g., message testing, HCP and patient/caregiver tracking).
  • Work with launch teams to ensure timely capture and interpretation of real-time data for launch execution.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; MBA/MS/PhD preferred.
  • 10+ years in biotech/pharma/healthcare; at least 5 years leading primary market research projects.
  • Rare Disease experience required.
  • Ability to generate actionable insights from complex datasets.
  • Strong project and vendor management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory/compliance related to market research and data usage in biotech.
  • Mastery of market research methodologies.
  • Experience supporting launch of specialty products or gene therapies is a plus.
