Functional Leadership
  • Determines professional/ technical approaches and strategies for own function
  • Develops policies and procedures for own function, in line with overall organization strategy
  • Has responsibility for the function and reports to the site/ SBU head (and/ or to a Home Office functional leader).
Essential Functions
  • Manages the organization's security function and develops security programs, policies, and processes.
  • Develops, designates, and implements safety and security protocols for assigned facilities. Managing the coordination and administration of security clearances.
  • Oversee and ensures processes are in place for preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and evicting trespassers.
  • Serves as point of contact for escalated safety/security concerns and may respond to situations as needed.
  • May coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Strategically and proactively assesses risks to ensure a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
  • Leads the investigation of crimes with leadership support.
  • Provides direction and guidance related to safety and crime prevention to employees and visitors.
  • Advises on specialized security needs or risks for limited and restricted access areas.
    • Additional Responsibilities
      • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on security health, performance metrics, compliance results, risks, and mitigation strategies.
      • Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
      • Experience working with DCSA. Broad background in security roles including FSO, OPSEC, COMSEC, physical security, education and awareness, personnel security, and insider threat.
      Required Qualifications
      • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in security, National Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Emergency Management. Investigations. Physical Security. Security Management. Security Risk Management. Strategy Development. Law Enforcement Liaison. Resource Allocation. Conflict De-Escalation.
      • Security Clearance: Active US government issued SECRET level security clearance or the ability to obtain.

      Physical Requirements
      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
      • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
