POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Business Development & Strategic Partnerships Capture Management lead will own the operational backbone of the BD and Strategic Partnerships team and will manage the BD swimlane of the capture pipeline as an integrated portfolio across all stages of the capture process. This role is designed to support capture through structure, rigor, and accountability. Day to day operations include ensuring that opportunities are tracked, that CRM and reporting cadences are maintained, that stakeholders are coordinated and handoffs between them are effective, and that departmental leadership has persistent real-time visibility into pipeline health. This role will report to Axiom's Director of BD & Strategic Partnerships.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the end-to-end BD pipeline, tracking all active opportunities through the six-phase capture process from market signal detection through operationalization, maintaining clear and communicative handoffs with Sales, business lines, and other functions

  • Own the BD Customer Relationship Management (CRM) configuration, data integrity, and reporting cadence

  • Maintain revision control and history that provides clear traceability of when, how, and why changes in customer relationship parameters (health, needs, price, timelines, etc.) changed

  • Produce regular pipeline reviews and status reporting for leadership

  • Coordinate cross-functional engagement across BD, Sales, Government Relations, Legal, and business unit teams to ensure timely inputs at each step of the capture process and decision gates

  • Manage the programmatic elements of active partnerships, including customer documentation (to include RFIs, RFPs, tenders, etc.), milestones, deliverables, partner communications, internal status tracking, and the registering and reporting of risks, threats, and status blockers

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, templates, and playbooks for BD processes

  • Support the preparation of materials for executive reviews, partner meetings, and internal decision gates

  • Perform other duties as required

Education & Experience

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Science, Engineering, Computer science, or Finance

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, business operations, and/or business development, preferably in the aerospace & defense industry or complex B2B/B2G environments

  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges

  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results
