The Director, Forklift Mode of Power Strategy is responsible for developing and executing the long-term roadmap for powering industrial material handling fleets across a large-scale supply chain network. This leader owns strategy, supplier ecosystem development, asset lifecycle management, commercial structures, and capital planning associated with material handling power systems and related infrastructure.
This role requires a combination of engineering expertise, energy ecosystem knowledge, supplier development experience, financial acumen, and executive leadership. The ideal candidate has experience operating at the intersection of industrial equipment, alternative energy, infrastructure ownership, supply chain operations, and large-scale commercial partnerships.
The Director partners closely with Reliability, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Real Estate, Energy, and external suppliers to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and scalable power solutions that support network growth and operational excellence.
About the team:
Our team develops and scales advanced automation, robotics, simulation, and energy solutions that enhance Walmart’s supply chain through engineering excellence and innovation. We leverage data analysis, strategic roadmaps, and process improvement to deliver measurable business impact. Collaborating across functions, we design and implement automation systems that optimize operations and drive value creation. The team emphasizes project management, systems design, and continuous improvement to support long-term automation goals. Together, we transform complex challenges into efficient, scalable solutions that advance Walmart’s operational capabilities and supply chain performance.
What you'll do:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and integration of advanced automation systems to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Utilize data analysis and visualization tools to develop insights that influence strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery of automation initiatives.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and oversee financial evaluations to ensure return on investment and operational excellence.
  • Develop and communicate strategic roadmaps for automation engineering, fostering collaboration across departments and external partners.
  • Identify risks, create contingency plans, and monitor project performance to achieve value creation and process enhancements.
