Introduction:
ARServices is seeking an experienced Audit Analyst to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Research & Development (RD) Directorate. This role is ideal for professionals with strong financial management and audit experience in DoD environments, particularly those familiar with resolving Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs), Receipt Acceptance and Inspection (RAI) processes, and federal audit readiness. You will serve as a key member of a matrixed Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) budget audit team supporting the CX Department, providing expert audit support to government project managers (PMs) and budget specialists across RD. This allows government PMs to focus on leading and managing Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts while ensuring financial compliance and audit readiness. The position requires collaboration within a cross-functional team and a deep understanding of DoD financial systems and processes.
Position Description:
The Audit Analyst will have demonstrated experience providing financial analysis, audit support, and resolution of ULOs and RAI issues in a DoD or federal setting. You will function as an audit support specialist for one office portfolio while participating in multi-office audit efforts, utilizing financial information systems to research and resolve discrepancies, and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership.
Location & Travel:
This is a full-time position based at DTRA Headquarters in Fort Belvoir, VA, with minimal travel expected.

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
  • Track, analyze, and resolve Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs) and Receipt, Acceptance, and Inspection (RAI) issues for one office portfolio, ensuring all documentation complies with DoD and DTRA standards.
  • Utilize Financial Management Information Systems (e.g., Defense Agencies Initiative - DAI) to research and resolve ULOs, and provide insights into current and prior year actual and planned obligations and expenditures data.
  • Fully and effectively collaborate with an existing cross-functional A&AS and government team to support audit readiness and financial management.
  • Assist in audit activities as directed, with priority placed on teamwork and supporting government priorities.
  • Develop and present complex financial information to senior Government officials using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Security Clearance Requirement: Current DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, management, or business-related discipline.
  • Current DoD Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of financial analysis/management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in resolving Unliquidated Obligations (ULOs) and assisting in Receipt, Acceptance, and Inspection (RAI) processes.
  • Experience with DoD financial audits.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience developing and presenting complex information to senior Government officials using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) Accounting system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and collaborative tools (MS Teams, Skype, WebEx, Adobe Connect).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification in financial management or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with developing and reviewing support agreements.
  • Experience with the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) and Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) tools.
  • Prior experience working at DTRA or within other DoD organizations.

Compensation at ARServices is determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including education, relevant experience, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, internal equity, external market considerations, geographic location, security clearance level, contract labor category and funding requirements, organizational needs, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full-time status. Actual starting compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and the factors identified above.

USD $83,898 - $161,266 / Yr.
