Job description

Position Description: ANPC is a global supplier of precision approach guidance and area surveillance solutions aimed at improving the safety and capacity of civil and military aviation for customers on all seven continents. Our transponder-based solutions are designed to serve airfields where others cannot. We are a team of extraordinary professionals working together to perform an important mission to uniquely serve airports with terrain, obstacles and other challenges that no other business can provide.
Job Summary
The Software Engineering Manager at ANPC bridges the gap between high-level business strategy and rigorous technical execution. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team—including Software Development, Architecture, and Test—to deliver safety-critical navigation and surveillance solutions. Your primary mission is to maintain the technical integrity and regulatory compliance of our systems while fostering a high-performance, disciplined engineering culture.
Essential Job Functions
• Drive the day-to-day progress of concurrent development projects, reallocating resources to ensure milestones are met without compromising safety-critical integrity.
• Partner with the Director of Engineering and Advanced Development team to convert high-level designs into executable engineering roadmaps and ensure strict adherence to those standards.
• Scale the engineering organization through strategic hiring and specialized onboarding, fostering a culture of professional pride and technical discipline.
• Translate business and customer requirements into actionable schedules, serving as the accountable link between organizational goals and team output.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead capacity (e.g., Lead Engineer, Scrum Master, or Technical Lead) with responsibility for project delivery and team mentorship.
• Proven track record in rigorous regulatory environments. Direct familiarity with RTCA DO-278 or DO-178C is highly preferred; however, candidates with deep experience in equivalent safety-critical standards (Medical, Automotive, etc.) who can demonstrate a "compliance-first" mindset will be considered.
• Strong background in embedded systems or C-based languages (C, C++, C#) to provide meaningful oversight and peer-level engagement with the Architecture and Test teams.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
• Demonstrated ability to manage full project lifecycles, departmental budgets (CAPEX/OPEX), and resource allocation in a high-stakes, schedule-driven environment.
• Expertise in modern engineering practices (CI/CD, Version Control, Agile) balanced with the strict documentation and process discipline required for aviation software.
• Proven "servant leader" capable of mentoring multi-disciplinary teams, managing remote/distributed talent, and maintaining high morale under tight deadlines.
• Ability to translate complex technical blockers into clear business risks for stakeholders and project managers.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with DoD or aviation environments.
• Experience with embedded systems or avionics software is highly desirable.
