Job description

As the Director of Artificial Intelligence Enablement, you will accelerate the personal AI effectiveness of AMETEK's eight Executive Office members and to advance the company's broader AI strategy. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a hands-on practitioner who builds and demonstrates working AI solutions, and an active participant in enterprise AI governance. The rotational design is to ensure the successful candidate carries deep AI fluency back into the operating businesses, seeding capability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Support (≈50%)
  • Work one-on-one with EO members to embed AI tools into their daily workflows including the creation of agents to improve their personal effectiveness.
  • Translate each leader's specific needs and experience level into practical AI-enabled solutions.
  • Build trust and confidentiality given exposure to sensitive executive-level information.
  • Coach by doing: sit alongside leaders, build prompts and workflows with them, and raise their baseline fluency over time.

AI Training (≈35%)
  • Lead the development and execution of AMETEK's company-wide AI training programs.
  • Design curricula and learning pathways tailored to varying levels of AI maturity - from foundational fluency for the broader workforce to advanced practitioner skills for power users and technical staff. Partner with HR, Learning & Development, and functional leaders to deliver training at scale, measure impact on adoption and capability, and continuously refresh content as tools and use cases evolve.

AI Governance (≈15%)
  • Participate as a member of the AMETEK AI Governance Committee.
  • Help shape policy on responsible use, data security, model selection, vendor evaluation, and risk management.
  • Act as a bridge between governance requirements and frontline practitioners, ensuring policy is practical and adoption is compliant while ensuring AMETEK moves at speed.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering, Physical Science or IT related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience, with a track record of delivering measurable results in a large organization
  • Demonstrated hands-on fluency with current generative AI tools and the judgment to know where they help and where they don't
  • Strong business acumen and the credibility to advise senior executives
  • Excellent communication skills and the emotional intelligence to coach and advise senior leaders
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward building working prototypes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA

  • Experience designing training programs at scale, including curriculum development and measurement of learning impact
  • Experience building or leading cross-functional or cross-business communities of practice

  • Technical depth sufficient to evaluate tools and converse credibly with IT and AI vendors
