Reports To: VP of Sales (Americas)

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission/bonus; car allowance; benefits

Position Summary

Aleph America Corporation is seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Manager – Rep & Distribution Development to lead new business growth across North America through independent sales representatives, distributors, and direct customer development.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with a strong background in electronic components, sensors, relays, magnetics, or related technical products who can also serve as a technical and commercial bridge between customers in North America and Aleph’s engineering and manufacturing teams in Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for rebuilding and managing rep coverage, expanding distribution, identifying new growth opportunities, supporting key customer development, and improving conversion of opportunities into long-term business.

Key Responsibilities

Rep and Distributor Development

  • Recruit, evaluate, onboard, train, and manage independent sales representative firms across assigned territories.
  • Identify, develop, and expand distributor relationships to increase market coverage and support short-term revenue growth.
  • Establish clear performance expectations for reps and distributors, including opportunity development, quote follow-up, customer visits, and regular reporting.
  • Review territory coverage, line-card fit, competitive conflicts, and rep effectiveness, and make recommendations for changes where needed.
  • Conduct joint sales calls and territory reviews with rep firms and distributors to build momentum and improve accountability.

Sales and Business Development

  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales, margin, and growth targets.
  • Develop new business opportunities within target industries such as industrial, appliance, automotive, controls, and related electronics markets.
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand share of wallet.
  • Drive the full sales cycle, including prospecting, opportunity development, quotation, negotiation, award, and account support.
  • Support both direct account development and channel-led growth strategies.

Technical and Commercial Customer Support

  • Build strong working relationships with customer engineering, purchasing, quality, and program teams.
  • Understand customer applications, technical requirements, and commercial needs in order to recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Serve as the primary North America liaison between customers and internal technical/manufacturing teams on product selection, application questions, sample support, quality issues, and design activity.
  • Help resolve technical-commercial issues that may affect quotations, development timelines, launches, or ongoing business.
  • Support long design-cycle opportunities and manage the follow-up discipline needed to convert them into production business.

Strategy, Forecasting, and Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, customer activity, competitive developments, and pricing dynamics.
  • Identify new growth opportunities by industry, account, and territory.
  • Develop territory plans, account strategies, and channel development plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Prepare regular forecasts, pipeline reviews, market feedback, and sales activity reports.
  • Provide input on pricing strategy, new product opportunities, and go-to-market priorities.

Internal Collaboration and Process Management

  • Work closely with customer service, supply chain, logistics, finance, engineering, and factory teams to support timely execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internally on quotations, sample requests, order execution, issue resolution, and collections support where needed.
  • Use CRM and ERP tools to manage customer information, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and sales activities.
  • Help improve sales processes, reporting discipline, and communication flow between North America and Asia.

Product and Market Development

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Aleph America’s product lines, including sensors, electronic components, and related technologies.
  • Support product launches, training, and channel education efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of practical sales tools, product literature, samples, and other customer-facing materials.
  • Help position Aleph as a responsive, technically credible, and easy-to-do-business-with supplier.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of sales, business development, or channel management experience in electronic components, sensors, relays, magnetics, electromechanical products, or related technical industries.
  • Proven experience managing or working with independent sales representatives and distributors.
  • Strong background in technical sales and customer-facing commercial development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
  • Experience working with engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to support customer needs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote role while maintaining strong internal coordination.
  • Proficiency with CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, approximately 30%–40%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a technical-commercial liaison for Asia-based manufacturing organizations.
  • Experience supporting products with long design cycles, especially in automotive, appliance, industrial, or controls markets.
  • Background in rep network expansion, distributor strategy, and territory optimization.
  • Experience with forecasting, pricing, budgeting, margin management, and business planning.
  • Familiarity with quality issue resolution, failure analysis support, or customer technical problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred.
