Director - AI Transformation

Description -

Job Summary

The Director - AI Transformation is responsible for driving enterprise-wide AI transformation initiatives, translating business priorities into scalable AI solutions, and leading cross-functional programs from strategy and design through execution. This role operates in a highly complex, matrixed environment and serves as the bridge between business leaders, technology teams, and external partners to deliver measurable business outcomes through AI.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, business acumen, AI domain expertise, consulting-style problem solving, and exceptional stakeholder management skills to identify high-value AI use cases, shape solution roadmaps, and accelerate AI adoption aligned with industry and technology trends.

Key Responsibilities

AI Transformation Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute AI transformation strategies that align with enterprise objectives, business priorities, and digital transformation goals.

  • Partner with senior leadership to identify, prioritize, and develop AI use cases that deliver measurable business value.

  • Create multi-year AI roadmaps and transformation plans that balance innovation, scalability, risk, and operational readiness.

  • Continuously assess emerging AI technologies, industry trends, competitive landscape, and market opportunities to inform strategic direction.

  • Develop AI transformation frameworks, operating models, and governance structures that enable sustainable enterprise adoption.

AI Use Case Identification & Solution Shaping

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to uncover opportunities where AI can improve customer experience, operational efficiency, employee productivity, revenue growth, and decision-making.

  • Lead discovery workshops, design-thinking sessions, and value assessment exercises to define business problems and AI opportunities.

  • Connect business needs, technology capabilities, data availability, and organizational readiness to shape scalable AI solutions.

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative approaches that maximize business impact.

  • Develop business cases, success metrics, ROI models, and implementation strategies for AI initiatives.

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Lead complex, cross-functional AI transformation programs involving multiple business units, technology teams, and executive stakeholders.

  • Manage a team of AI program managers

  • Drive end-to-end delivery from ideation, prioritization, proof-of-concept, pilot, deployment, and enterprise-scale adoption.

  • Establish governance structures, operating models, risk management frameworks, and program metrics.

  • Manage dependencies, resource allocation, stakeholder alignment, and change management activities.

  • Ensure successful transition from experimentation to production-scale deployment and value realization.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and business leaders on AI opportunities, risks, adoption strategies, and investment priorities.

  • Influence decision-making across a matrixed organization without direct authority.

  • Build alignment among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities.

  • Facilitate executive workshops and strategic discussions to drive consensus and action.

  • Present recommendations, business cases, transformation of roadmaps, and program updates to executive leadership.

AI Adoption & Organizational Change

  • Develop strategies to accelerate AI adoption and organizational readiness.

  • Drive change management initiatives to embed AI capabilities into business processes and workflows.

  • Promote AI literacy and foster a culture of responsible AI innovation.

  • Establish frameworks for measuring business impact, adoption success, and organizational maturity.

  • Partner with business leaders to ensure sustainable adoption and continuous value delivery.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in AI/digital transformation, business transformation, program management technology strategy, or consulting.

  • Experience in a Fortune 100 technology / global enterprises or management consulting experience leading AI transformation engagements in large, global, matrixed environments including AI strategy development, operating model design, use-case portfolio prioritization, value realization planning, and large-scale AI adoption programs.

  • Experience partnering with consulting firms, system integrators, technology providers, and external ecosystem partners to accelerate AI transformation.

  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders and driving cross-functional alignment as well as managing a team of AI program managers

  • Ability to develop long-term transformation strategies while balancing near-term execution needs.

  • Experience managing large-scale complex transformation programs and portfolios involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and technology teams.

  • Track record of translating business challenges into scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes across functions such as Product Development, Customer Support, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, or IT.

  • Strong business acumen with experience building business cases and quantifying value realization.
