position summary & purpose

The Financial Analyst supports the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department, with particular emphasis on account reconciliation, tabular and graphical analysis, and process implementation and documentation.

Essential duties and resPONSIBILITIEs

  • Write and debug programs for processing trading data on a daily and monthly basis
  • Maintain bank account reconciliations and implement process improvements
  • Support the creation and maintenance of various accounting schedules (depreciation, lease liabilities, prepaids, etc.)
  • Manage the usage of programs and assist with resolving errors
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of connections with external platforms
  • Leverage AI and other technology tools to develop and maintain accounting processes
  • Reconcile firm credit card activity
  • Assist with the reconciliation of monthly general ledger accounts
  • Maintain daily and monthly account reconciliations
  • All other duties as assigned

knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • 1 year or more years of finance experience
  • Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), programming (Python, VBA), and computational and statistical data analysis
  • 1 year or more years of Broker Dealer experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software (Oracle preferred)
  • Detail and deadline oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) to assist with task tracking, collaboration, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Ability to multi-task projects

EDUCATION & work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, and/or Computer Science, Information Technology (preferred)
