Job Description

As a Security Officer Part Time Access Control Patrol in Boston, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a government transportation location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, respond to concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to visitors, employees, and partners. Guided by our agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture, you will work as part of a team and act with integrity.


Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon03:00 PM - 11:00 PMTue03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation facility.
  • Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters to appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminals, public areas, parking facilities, roadways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity and incident reports while maintaining a professional presence in a high-traffic government transportation environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
