Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Product Management to lead the development, execution, and performance of our Agriculture or Commercial Lines product portfolio across a 45-state footprint. This role will be instrumental in driving profitable growth through strong product strategy, disciplined execution, and deep cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in insurance product management, proven people leadership experience, and the ability to partner closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Field/Distribution, Claims, and Operations to deliver market-leading solutions. Experience working in an Agile environment is highly valued.

Location: In-Office (100% Onsite Required)

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for Agriculture or Commercial Lines aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Drive profitable growth through product innovation, pricing alignment, and market-responsive offerings across a diverse 45-state footprint.
  • Monitor product performance, identify trends, and proactively adjust strategies to meet financial and operational targets.
  • Lead product lifecycle management, including product design, enhancements, filings, and sunset decisions.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of product management professionals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear direction and prioritize initiatives aligned with strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Field/Distribution, Compliance, and Operations to ensure alignment on product strategy and execution.
  • Translate market needs and data insights into actionable product initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between corporate leadership and field teams to ensure product relevance and effectiveness.

Market & Portfolio Management

  • Analyze market trends, competitor positioning, and customer needs within Agricultural or Commercial segments.
  • Monitor the competitive environment to ensure product offerings remain differentiated and aligned with market expectations.
  • Identify emerging market shifts and proactively adjust product strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure products comply with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support expansion opportunities and geographic diversification as applicable.

Agile & Innovation Mindset

  • Operate effectively in an Agile or hybrid environment, contributing to iterative product development and rapid delivery cycles.
  • Drive innovation through data-driven insights and customer-centric thinking.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, insurance industry strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing and developing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Commercial or Agricultural insurance products and markets.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a track record of delivering results.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting multi-state or national product portfolios.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or similar frameworks).
  • CPCU, ARM, or other relevant industry designations.
  • Actuarial experience within the property and casualty insurance industry, including pricing, rate development, profitability analysis, or product management. Progress toward or possession of an actuarial credential is preferred.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will becommensuratewith candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost oflaborin that location.In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Albany and Chicago Pay Range: $104,000 - $190,000
