Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually


The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with the Project Managers, as well as many subcontractors, vendors, and clients, to assist in the successful management of hotel renovation projects. Coordinating and collaborating with the project management teams, they will assist in evaluating project needs from Request for Proposal documents and plans, soliciting quotes from subcontractors and vendors, purchasing, and tracking construction materials, negotiating subcontracts, creating and maintaining RFI and submittal logs, and providing closeout documentation.


Assistant Project Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Upload and review bid documents

  • Provide quantity take-offs and solicit subcontractor and vendor bids to prepare preliminary project budget

  • Coordinate with Project Team (Project Manager, Project Accountant and Superintendent) to determine schedule milestones, track materials, and ensure subcontractors are accurately scheduled

  • Maintain and contribute to various logs (Submittal, RFI, and Change Order)

  • Evaluate and approve invoices related to material purchases

  • Participate in project team calls, to include clients and/or subcontractors and vendors

  • Occasionally travel to jobsite as needed for prebid and preconstruction meetings, oversee floor punch, or stand in for the PM if they are unable to attend

  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the course of construction, for all phases

  • Other duties as assigned


Assistant Project Manager Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong math skills including basic geometry and arithmetic

  • Ability to navigate and interpret specifications and plans

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to work in a collaborative environment with many different people


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) required

  • High Proficiency in plan-reading, as well as estimation software such as Planswift or Bluebeam required

  • Proficiency in Procore highly preferred

  • Experience in construction, hospitality, large scale renovations, or estimating highly preferred

  • A minimum of a high school degree. A certificate, related college courses or other formal training in project management, construction or estimating preferred
