Must be available to work from 8am -4pm Monday through Friday. 


We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate care and support for clients with developmental disabilities residing in a home in North Seattle. Full or part-time hours are available. 


Responsibilities and duties include:

providing mobility support, 

monitor and support the care of up to four clients, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with Department of Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) guidelines.

administer medications and oversee health-related concerns, keeping accurate record

promoting positive: mental, physical, and nutritional health

observing, monitoring and recording clients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, and weight

foster and maintain positive communication with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure individualized care plans are effectively implemented - provide regular updates and reports on client progress and any changes in behavior or health

personal care, including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety

performing household chores and ordering supplies

oversee client shopping and spending, ensuring purchases are within budget and aligned with individual preferences - coordinate vehicle use and organize recreational activities, doctor appointments, and other daily outings

Requirements

Training:

 Direct Support Professional will complete 75+ hours of training which will include: Orientation & Safety, Core Basic Fundamentals of Caregiving, Nurse Delegation, First Aid & CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Parkview Policies & Procedures training. Direct Support Staff with then be required to complete 12 hours of continuing education annually. New employees must also pass a fingerprint criminal background check. 


Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education in social services, psychology, or a related field preferred.

- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.

- Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of fostering a positive team environment.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.

- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.

- Knowledge of DDA guidelines and regulations is a plus.
