How much do direct simulation of monte carlo jobs pay per year?

As of Sep 9, 2026, the average yearly pay for direct simulation of monte carlo in the United States is $67,601.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $44,000.00 and $79,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the difference between Direct Simulation Of Monte Carlo vs Monte Carlo Analyst?

AspectDirect Simulation Of Monte CarloMonte Carlo Analyst
CredentialsTypically requires a degree in mathematics, statistics, or engineeringRequires similar degrees, often with additional certifications in risk analysis or finance
Work EnvironmentOften in research labs, engineering firms, or financial institutionsPrimarily in finance, risk management, or consulting firms
Industry UsageUsed in engineering, finance, and scientific research for simulation modelingUsed mainly in finance and risk assessment for data analysis and modeling

While both roles involve Monte Carlo methods, the Direct Simulation Of Monte Carlo focuses on implementing simulation algorithms directly for complex systems, whereas the Monte Carlo Analyst specializes in analyzing and interpreting simulation data to inform decision-making in finance and risk management.

What is direct simulation of Monte Carlo?

Direct simulation of Monte Carlo is a computational technique used to model complex systems by generating random samples to estimate outcomes. It involves simulating individual events or particles directly to analyze probabilistic behavior, often requiring programming skills and statistical understanding. This method is commonly employed in fields like physics, finance, and engineering to solve problems with uncertainty.

Job description

Build simulation models that help teams explore scenarios, constraints, uncertainty, and operational tradeoffs.

Impact
  • Help teams test decisions before they are made in the real world.
  • Model systems where timing, capacity, resources, and uncertainty matter.
  • Turn scenarios into useful planning and decision tools.
What you'll do
  • Develop discrete-event, agent-based, Monte Carlo, or optimization-linked simulations.
  • Work with domain experts to validate assumptions and model behavior.
  • Integrate simulations into analytical and product workflows.
  • Communicate uncertainty, sensitivity, and tradeoffs clearly.
What we're looking for
  • 4+ years of simulation, operations research, systems modeling, or applied analytics experience.
  • Strong Python, statistics, and modeling fundamentals.
  • Experience translating real-world processes into useful computational models.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous mission, data, and engineering problems.
  • Strong written communication and ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred experience
  • AWS experience is a plus, especially secure cloud, GovCloud, serverless, data, or AI services.
  • AI, machine learning, LLM, agentic workflow, or decision intelligence experience is a plus.
  • Experience in defense, government, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics, or other mission-critical environments is a plus.

Anautics evaluates candidates based on role-relevant skills, judgment, ownership, and ability to work in high-trust environments. AWS and AI experience are strong pluses across this hiring plan.
