We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Sales Representative to join our dynamic team and drive growth.

Job Summary:

The Business Development Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and acquiring new business clients within the print and direct mail industry. This role requires a proactive, investigative approach to generating new qualified leads, building strong client relationships, understanding their marketing objectives, and presenting tailored print and direct mail solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, have excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of direct mail print production processes and direct mail marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development:
    • Actively research and identify potential new clients and market opportunities through various channels (e.g., online research, networking, referrals, industry events, etc.).
    • Initiate contact with prospective clients via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn & Social Media outreach, and/or other effective methods to generate qualified leads.
    • Create compelling reasons why prospective clients would be willing to meet and exchange information.
    • Conduct needs assessments to understand clients' marketing challenges and objectives related to print and direct mail.
    • Work with Freedom’s internal team to develop customer-specific solutions that support client objectives and/or address challenges.
  • Sales Process Management:
    • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals showcasing our print and direct mail capabilities and how they align with client needs.
    • Assist estimating with pricing strategy and contracts, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
    • Manage the sales pipeline efficiently from lead generation to closing, utilizing CRM tools to track progress and report on activities.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their print and direct mail needs.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., estimating, production, marketing, client services) to ensure seamless execution of projects and client satisfaction. 
    • Regularly follow up with clients to ensure their ongoing needs are met and to identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Market and Industry Knowledge:
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes within print, direct mail, and integrated marketing.
    • Understand relevant print technologies (e.g., web-offset, digital, wide format), finishing options, postal regulations, and direct mail best practices.
    • Become an expert in the challenges and opportunities of our clients and prospects’ businesses and their respective industries.
  • Goal Achievement:
    • Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and targets.
    • Contribute to the overall growth and success of the sales department and the company.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven successful experience in sales, specifically within the print, direct mail, marketing services, or related industries.
  • Possess a "hunter" mentality with a passion for sales and a drive to succeed.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically prospect, qualify, present, and close new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Experience selling consultatively to all levels of decision makers. 
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, direct mail strategies, postal regulations, and marketing principles.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with integrated omni-channel marketing campaigns that include print and digital components.
  • Existing network of contacts within target industries for print/direct mail services.
