Job description

SALARY RANGE: $30.62 per hour – This is a Union position. This role is responsible for general golf course maintenance work, involving but not limited to, skid-loader, trencher, backhoe, mowers, aerifiers, powered and un-powered hand tools. This role also regularly operates utility vehicles. Operates tractors, fairway, and rough mowers and aerifiers and spreaders for fertilizing fairways and roughs.

 

Essential Functions

  • Must adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life. 
  • Must actively participate in team member referral program and be a Talent Ambassador for Silverado Resort.
  • Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Operate all equipment that is used in daily course maintenance.
  • Mow greens, trees, and aprons, and approach areas not accessible with gang mowers.
  • Operate sod cutter, spray rigs and may assist in the fertilization of greens, trees, fairways, roughs and related areas.
  • Mow fairways and rough areas; and operates other equipment as directed.
  • Maintain gasoline or diesel, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily.
  • Report equipment problems and failures to mechanic immediately.
  • Install detailed irrigation and drainage systems as directed.
  • Use loaders to remove dirt, debris and other materials and refuse.
  • Return equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility as directed by the mechanic or Assistant Superintendent properly cleaned and serviced.
  • Oversee other maintenance associates while performing duties that include operation of equipment. Ensures safety the associate and proper operation of equipment.
  • Operate equipment safely and be aware of other associates in work area.
  • Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

 

Working Conditions and Schedule

  • Regularly stand, walk, and sit.
  • Regularly uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks or hears.
  • Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; tastes or smells.
  • Occasionally will have to lift more than 100 pounds.
  • Regularly work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) as well as in areas with moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally works in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Occasionally may work in high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
  • This role requires operating a utility vehicle.
