Real Estate (Public Finance) Mid-Level or Senior Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate (Public Finance) Mid-Level or Senior Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3+ years of public finance experience to join a nationally recognized real estate practice advising clients on sophisticated public finance and economic development transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience structuring property tax incentive transactions and working with public financing programs that support commercial development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in public finance and economic development incentive transactions.

  • Advise on property tax incentive structures, including bonds-for-title, PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes), and similar economic development programs.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing documents, transaction agreements, and related legal instruments.

  • Represent issuers, bond counsel, company counsel, or other stakeholders in public finance transactions.

  • Assist clients in structuring complex development incentives and financing arrangements.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across real estate, finance, and corporate practices to provide integrated legal solutions.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 3+ years of public finance experience.

  • Experience with property tax incentive and economic development transactions, including bonds-for-title, PILOT, or similar programs.

  • Experience serving as bond counsel, issuer's counsel, or company counsel is preferred.

  • Commercial real estate experience is a plus.

  • Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and client counseling skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
