Position Details:
Role: Software Engineer
Duration: Longterm Contract (Multi Year)

Remote Capabilities: NONE - Fully Onsite Mon-Fri
PROJECT DETAILS (Size, Scale, Scope):
Will be supporting the "mid-office" on PMI floor and EMT - which is the Nextera energy resources and credit risk/compliance projects. Will be working on custom software using AWS Microservices - looking for a Backend Developer that will work on existing custom software also with the team to build new features. Can be anything from credit ratings, contracts, calculations for exposure, etc.
AWS heavy - various services that they offer
Java skills
Severless architecture - writing lambdas, DynamoDB, S3 buckets
Good communication skills - interface with business users
Knowledge with SQL, NoSQL - general DB knowledge
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITES:
Mostly development but will be interacting with the business users to gather requirements, talk through the "ask", if it is feasible, and coming up with solutions.
80/20 AWS to Java work
MUST HAVES (TOP 3):

5. Database Experience - SQL, NoSQL
Responsible for the development and integration of new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure and existing business processes. Provides technical or functional guidance to project or work teams as needed within a specific discipline. Collaborates on an on-going basis with the Business Systems Analyst. Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, debugs, implements, maintains and/or enhances existing or new systems that are reliable and efficient.
Work with a proprietary event-sourcing framework to build scalable products to handle complex business processes.
Design and maintain API contracts to collaborate with UI developers.
Collaborate in real time with other engineers on the team in a pair / mob.
Write clean, easily maintainable and testable Java code.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deeply understand business needs.
Work within AWS serverless systems to deploy and manage infrastructure.
Ensure reliability and maintainability of the event-driven systems under this team's umbrella.
Required Experience:
A developer with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
Experience working in distributed event-driven systems
Experience with AWS services
AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, S3, SNS / SQS
Strong ability to understand and model business processes
Experience designing and maintaining API contracts
Proficiency in Java is a plus, but a strong grasp of software engineering principles matters more
Experience in integrating with 3rd party applications
Optional Experience:
Proficiency in Python, Typescript, shell scripting
Experience working in financial/trade-related applications
