Straight Path RTC - Direct Care Staff Overview

Introduction Straight Path provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children in our care. As Direct Care Staff, your role is essential in ensuring their well-being, safety, and development. This guide outlines your key responsibilities.

⭐️We are looking for Female Staff as this is a facility for girls⭐️

Key Responsibilities

  • Know your assigned clients, including their needs, habits, and supervision levels.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment.
  • Encourage and recognize client achievements.
  • Share important updates with incoming caregivers.
  • Follow and implement client service plans.
  • Keep accurate, signed, and dated documentation.
  • Actively supervise and engage with clients.
  • Lead and participate in recreational and group activities.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to the menu.
  • Provide transportation when needed.
  • Inform the Shift Supervisor of any concerns.
  • Respond to crises and intervene when necessary.
  • Complete daily progress notes and incident reports by shift end.
  • Recognize risk factors and warning signs of suicide.
  • Administer medications as per Straight Path policy.
  • Participate in shift transition meetings.
  • Follow the daily schedule set by your supervisor.

Supervision Guidelines Consider the following when supervising clients:

  • Age, abilities, and individual needs.
  • RTC layout and potential hazards.
  • Physical, mental, and emotional factors.

For unsupervised activities, ensure:

  • You know the client’s location and return time.
  • Safe transportation is arranged.
  • The client can contact SP in emergencies.
  • You are available for immediate response if needed.

Current shifts:

Monday through Friday 6am-2pm

Monday through Friday 2pm-10p


Monday/Tuesday 6am-2pm Wednesday 6am-6pm


Sunday 6pm-6am Monday/Tuesday 2pm-10pm
