Job description

City Auto Sales - Madison, AL
What would your workday look like if your experience was respected, your workload stayed consistent, and your shop felt organized instead of chaotic? If you're an experienced Automotive Technician looking for stability, strong leadership, and a place where good work is appreciated, City Auto Sales in Madison would like to talk with you.
This is a full-time, in-shop role for a technician who takes pride in their craft and wants to grow with a service department that is actively expanding, not spinning its wheels.
What the Work Looks Like
As an Experienced Automotive Technician, you will handle a steady flow of internal and light external repair work, allowing you to focus on quality, efficiency, and diagnosis without constant customer pressure. Your day will include performing advanced diagnostics and complex repairs, completing scheduled maintenance, and supporting overall shop flow through clear communication with service writers. You'll participate in daily shop meetings that keep everyone aligned, reduce surprises, and help the team stay efficient. There's also an opportunity to support and mentor junior technicians as the department continues to grow.
This is a shop that values doing things the right way and giving technicians the room to do their best work.
What You Get (And Why It Matters)
We believe good technicians stay where they feel valued, supported, and fairly compensated.
  • Pay: $30-$35+ per flag hour, based on experience
    • Top performers with strong diagnostics and consistency earn more!
  • Benefits:
    • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
    • 401(k) with 4% company match
    • 120 hours of PTO after only 90 days
  • The Shop and The Perks:
    • Temperature-controlled shop
    • Paid training to keep skills sharp
    • Uniforms provided
    • Gym membership
    • Employee discounts on vehicles and services
    • Weekly company lunches on Saturdays
    • Summer cookouts, holiday events, and annual employee appreciation celebrations

Bi-weekly pay and steady internal work help create consistency you can count on.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a technician who brings experience, accountability, and pride in their work.
  • 8+ years of automotive technician experience
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Your own tools
  • Willingness to work a rotating Saturday schedule

Preferred but not required:
  • ASE certifications
  • Aftermarket or independent shop experience
  • A self-directed, reliable work style

Simply put, the more experience you bring, the more opportunities you'll have here.
A Schedule That Makes Sense
  • Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM-6:00 PM (rotated for coverage)
  • Rotating Saturdays
  • Closed Sundays

The structure is consistent, with flexibility built into the rotation.
